Finding Heather

When Heather Forester finds herself at Dulles International Airport to meet Brett, her pilot husband, who tragically died some months earlier, it is clear that she is losing her grip on reality. Max and Megan, her seven-year-old twins, and the companionship of her sister-in-law Chrissy Lowenstein, are all that keep her functioning inside the crippling maze of widowhood.Craving the support of her mother and brother, Elspeth and Murdoch MacDonald, Heather takes the momentous decision to leave Virginia and move her fractured family back to her native Scotland. While life on the Isle of Skye ignites memories of her happy childhood, despite the familiar surroundings, Heather no longer feels at one with her island. As her children navigate the bumpy transition into local life, Heather must face the question of whether, having left it far behind, it is truly possible to go home.
