The Best Friends

"I thought we were best friends. But maybe I was wrong . . . I get a text from Evan. Lily’s been attacked. Get here asap. Lily is my old college roommate and my best friend. Her businessman husband Evan worships the ground she walks on. Evan meets me at the hospital, a quiet sob wracking his body. He gives me a hug. For some reason it makes me uncomfortable.
